The application of welding robots has increased significantly

North American welders charge 60-80$/h. The North American market is one of the important markets for welding robots in the world, accounting for about 15% of the global market share. Compared with labor costs, one of our welding robots can replace 3 mature welders and save 310,000USD/year.
Generally speaking, the speed of manual welding may be 20-30 pieces per hour, while robots can reach 50-100 pieces per hour, especially for highly repetitive tasks. However, different types of welding processes should be considered, such as MIG/MAG, TIG, laser welding, etc. Robots may be more efficient in some cases.
Then there is the lifespan. Manual welding is limited by the physical strength and skills of workers. Long-term work may cause fatigue, affect quality, and workers may be at risk of occupational diseases. The lifespan of robots is longer. Although maintenance costs exist, they can continue to work 24/7 and reduce downtime. Here we may need to mention indicators such as MTBF (mean time between failures). Robots are usually more than a few thousand hours, while humans need to take shifts to rest.
In terms of price, the initial investment of robots is higher, including purchase costs, installation and debugging, and programming costs. But in the long run, the labor cost savings and efficiency improvements may offset this part of the investment. Labor costs include wages, benefits, training, and possible compensation for work-related injuries, which may accumulate higher in the long run.
Taking all the above factors into consideration, the current market prospects for welding robots are very good.
