Want to get the best painting robot on the market but don’t know your options?
When we look for painting robots, most of us aren’t looking for artistic merit. We just wanted a reliable robot that was easy to program and would give our products the desired surface finish.
Many industrial robots can be used for painting. However, the task is sometimes difficult to achieve due to the somewhat complex interactions between the different components and the safety requirements of the robot.
Some robot manufacturers have addressed this problem head-on with their integrated painting solutions. Next, the SZGH editor will list some of the current advanced spraying robots for you.
Here are 5 of the top painting robots designed for professional-grade finishing.
- KUKA and Dürr’s ready2_spray
Dürr AG has long been a market leader in the automotive industry, providing assembly and painting solutions. A few years ago, they collaborated with the robot manufacturer KUKA to produce the ready2_spray solution.
The solution is based on KUKA’s AGILUS KR 10 R1100 robot and provides all the necessary components for a painting robot. They even made a cute animation on the ready2_spray webpage showing the difference between it and the regular KUKA painting robot.
- FANUC PaintMate
Another big name in robotics, FANUC’s dedicated painting solutions are the PaintMate series. Like the previously mentioned solutions, it complies with the ATEX directive for equipment operating in explosive atmospheres and is therefore explosion-proof.
PaintMate comes in several different sizes, each based on one of FANUC’s robot models.
- ABB’s FlexPainter
ABB was a pioneer in painting robots back in the late 1960s. Their latest painting robot, the FlexPainter, continues to innovate with its new ABB Ability Connected Atomizer – “the world’s first digital automotive robotic painting system”.
Like other painting robots, the Flexpainter (based on the IRB 5500) has a large working envelope, enabling it to span large workpieces for another side painting.
- Robot painting by Kawasaki
Kawasaki offers its own robotic painting solution based on its K-series robots. Like all the robots on this list, they come with a range of peripherals that improve the painting experience, and importantly, they are suitable for the pressurized environment of a paint booth.
- SZGH Painting series
SZGH offers Painting series of robots specially designed for painting tasks.
Like the other robots listed here, these painting series can be mounted in various configurations (e.g. from the ceiling, wall or floor), allowing greater flexibility in painting tasks. But compared to other robots, its price is based on competitive advantages.
